Outgoing students
General information
Students at the Universidade de Vigo will be able to participate in the various calls for mobility that the Office of International Relations (ORI) publishes throughout the course. The calls are usually published the year before the course in which the stay will be made. It is very important to follow news from ORI through its announcements.
The programme that holds the largest number of participants is the Erasmus+ programme. Even so, there are other programmes offered by Universidade de Vigo that also allow its students to gain scholarships in many countries in the rest of the world (Mobility agreements, ISEP, GE4, etc) or in Spain (SICUE).
The ORI is currently undergoing digitalisation of all the administrative procedures related to the organisation of mobility in the institutions to expedite the exchange of student academic data between them.
That is why you must use the mobility portal to apply for mobility grants and create study contracts. The information on administrative procedures and requirements for each call will be explained in each of them.
The portal will be your management tool for mobility calls. In it you will find the mobility application forms, your mobility offers, your submitted applications, the study agreement (which will be signed through the portal by your coordinator of origin and destination) and you can also present all the documentation that is required by the ORI.

SICUE
The SICUE Programme (the exchange programme among Spanish universities) makes it possible for students to spend either half or an entire academic year in a different university, depending on the agreement signed by the universities. The call is published every February.

Erasmus+
General information
The Erasmus+ programme enables students to read for a degree recognised by the European institutions with which the Universidade de Vigo has signed collaboration agreements (Erasmus+ KA 131 with countries of the programme) or with institutions from non-EU countries (Erasmus+ KA 171 with associated countries).
Undergraduate, master's and doctoral students can participate and be granted up to 12 months of scholarship in each of those courses of study.
The students interested in participating must be attentive to the calls that are published from the ORI and make any request following its instructions.

Erasmus+ KA131: internships
The Erasmus+ Internship programme makes it possible for students enrolled in official degrees at the Universidade de Vigo to do internships related to their studies in European companies and institutions in countries adhering to the programme.
Newly graduated students may also participate under the condition that they do the internship in the year following their graduation and apply for the internship while enrolled.
Internships may last a minimum of two months and a maximum of twelve months.

The National Agencies of the Erasmus+ programme have agreed to use a common platform to publish internship offers: Erasmus Intern.
This tool was developed by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). The platform allows companies to register their internship offers and for students and organisations to search for interested companies, with filtering options that allow searches tailored to the objectives of each institution.

Erasmus+ KA131: Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP)
The Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are short-term intensive programmes (between 5 and 30 days), which are part of the new Erasmus+ 2021/2027 Programme and use innovative learning and teaching methods, including online collaborative work.
By enabling new and more flexible mobility formats that combine physical mobility with a virtual component, intensive combined programmes aim to reach all types of students, from any background, field of study, and cycle.
Each Erasmus+ BIP is organised by a group of at least 3 universities from 3 different countries. UVigo can be the organiser of the programmes, receiving participants from other institutions, or it can be a participant and organise the call to send applicants, who may be students and staff from the institutions.
The groups of students will work collaboratively as a team with the help of the professors of the participating institutions, combining a mandatory online work period and a face-to-face work period in which all students will travel to the country of the organising university for a short mobility stay, usually lasting a week.
In most cases, the online work is done first, and then the face-to-face stay is carried out to finish the project. Sometimes, the online activity can continue after the face-to-face work week.
Erasmus+ KA171: undergraduate degree, master degree and PhD
Under the Erasmus+ programme, the KA171 action aims to promote mobility for students and university staff. It provides training and teaching opportunities through exchange agreements with partner institutions in partner countries outside the European Union.
The Erasmus+ KA171 call also has mobility for undergraduate, master's and PhD degrees, but unlike its counterpart 131, the call is joint.
The Erasmus+ projects of the Universidade de Vigo are co-financed by the European Union. UVigo is exclusively responsible for this website's content which may not necessarily reflect EU or SEPIE opinions or points of view. Neither the EU nor the National Agency SEPIE can be held responsible for this content.

ISEP
ISEP (International Student Exchange Programme) is a network of more than 200 universities around the world that aims to facilitate physical mobility for last year undergraduate and graduate students.
Through ISEP, students at the Universidade de Vigo can take a full course (August-May) or a semester (August-December or January-May) at an American university. There are more than 150 U.S. universities to choose from, and a wide range of study programmes.
Universidade de Vigo has a maximum of 15 places per year or 30 per semester assigned.
Admitted candidates will be granted free accommodation and maintenance, according to the institutional reciprocity system, during their time at the U.S. university and will not pay tuition fees at the receiving university. The amount they will have to pay to Universidade de Vigo will be specified in the call.

Free mobility
Free mobility

It is not required to have been considered for a grant for mobility under the programmes or agreements signed by the Universidade de Vigo.
Scholarships
Banco Santander Scholarship
Banco Santander, within the framework of the agreements signed with the universities, offers complementary Erasmus+ scholarships to the students selected in this call. The ORI will publish the calls and those interested must register on the Santander platform within the deadlines established for each call.
Complementary scholarships
Students from Universidade de Vigo who participate in an international mobility programme (ISEP, UVigo Mobility Programmes, GE4, Erasmus) will have access to the additional economic aid from the Xunta de Galicia regional government. This scholarship is announced when the students are already at their destination, so it is very important that they pay attention to the communications from the ORI in order to submit the due application in time.
Similarly, there may be other sources of complementary funding from provincial governments.
