Students from affiliated centres, in addition to the rest of the fees, pay the university 25% of the fees for academic services that correspond to the degree and to the affiliated centre at the rate established by the centre:

Foreign students over 18 years of age who are not residents (excluding people with the nationality of any of the EU member states or countries to which the EU system applies) will pay the fees for academic services that correspond to their degree, increased by 25%.

To prove your residency, you must present your foreigners' identity card at your centre's secretary's office before 29th October; otherwise, a new payment slip will be issued with a 25% increase in the amount.

The price for credit recognition is:

  • Free of charge for credits from the same degree or equivalent as long as the same competences, skills and knowledge are obtained, if they come from public centres. It is also free of charge for the recognition of credits taken in an open degree and in a PCEO that have effects in both degrees.
  • In the rest of the cases, 25% of the fees for academic services of the degree in which they are taken, discounting the exemptions and bonuses you are entitled to (consult the discount tab).

Foreign visiting students who wish to extend their education at the Universidade de Vigo through a temporary stay must pay:

  • The fees for academic services corresponding to the credits for which he/she registers (consult the price list for the degree and master's degree on this page).
  • Fees for administrative services:
    • opening of the file: 22,31€ 
    • documentation and support for online registration: 1,75€
    • issuing and maintenance of the university identity card: 4,79€
  • Administrative fees: €400 for four-month stays and €800 for annual stays.

Cancellation of registration at the student's request implies the loss of the amounts paid at the time of cancellation.

Cash:

When you carry out the Self-Registration procedure, the computer application issues a settlement slip with which you can pay the full amount of the registration within 30 days at any branch of Abanca, Banco Santander or CaixaBank.

Credit card: 

By selecting this option at the time of Self-Registration you can make the payment at the time, or within 30 calendar days by entering the virtual student secretary's office (SVE) in "See registration payments".

Direct debit:

To pay by direct debit it is essential to have the authorisation of the account holder. If we do not have the authorisation, we will change the method of payment to a single payment in cash.

  • If you are the account holder: At the moment of the Self-Registration process, you must indicate the bank account number and authorise the charge.
  • If you're not the account holder: At the moment of the Self-Registration you must indicate the account number, NIF, name and surname of the account holder. At the end of the process, the computer programme will automatically generate a form called SEPA that you must hand in or send to the Student Secretary's Office of the centre where you are studying within 10 days of registration, with the handwritten or electronic signature of the account holder. ​​​​​​

Direct debit payments cannot be made after 21 February.

It is the student's responsibility to keep their bank details up to date, to check that the account where they are paying by direct debit is operational, that the direct debit is authorised, and that the bank has made the registration payment.

The fees for administrative services are paid with the first payment. The % refers to the fees for academic services.

Modification of the payment method:

It can be modified using the electronic form:

  • When changing from cash/card to direct debit payment (single or instalment) up to 7 days before the end of the payment deadline shown on the Settlement Sheet.     
  • In the case of direct debit, the change from one-off or instalment to one-off, up to the 10th of the month prior to the date of the direct debit.
  • Direct debit to cash/card up to the 10th of the month prior to the date on which the direct debit is to be charged.

In any case, no changes can be made after 10 February.

 

  • UVIGO allows the registration in 6 instalments without charge to facilitate the payment. Check the conditions at Payment methods.
     
  • We also have our own scholarship programme for people with financial difficulties to pay the registration fee. If you intend to apply for the scholarships, you must mark "Universidade de Vigo's own scholarship" when you register in the Exemptions section, and this way you will be able to pay the fees for academic services, bearing in mind that if you do not get the scholarship you will have to pay the registration fee, and on certain dates you will no longer be able to split the payment. Consult the conditions of the registration grants in the Study grants section.
     
  • In addition, if you have been granted a general grant from the MEFP you do not have to pay for the credits for which you are registering for the first time. If you intend to apply for it, you must tick "Bolsa Ministerio de Educación" when you register in the Exemption section, and in this way the payment of the fees for academic services will be postponed, bearing in mind that if you do not get the grant you will have to pay the registration fee, and on certain dates you will no longer be able to pay in instalments. 

When the prices are not paid within the indicated period, an increase of 10% of the debt is applied. In addition, the file will be archived as a precautionary measure with the following consequences:

  • limitation of access to the virtual secretariat,
  • no issue of certificates or diplomas,
  • no processing of late registration applications,
  • impossibility of cancellation, modification of registration and file transfers,
  • impossibility of registration in subsequent years or any other procedure related to your file.

The precautionary archive does not affect the permanence regime and does not prevent the attendance to theoretical and practical classes, as well as to exams.

To reactivate the file you must go to the secretary's office of your centre to get a new payment slip and make the payment.

If before the 31st of May you do not pay the debt, the registration will be definitively suspended by means of a resolution with the limitations indicated. The definitive suspension does not settle the debt, nor does it cancel the registration, nor does it entitle you to a refund of the amounts paid. The suspension is without effect once the debt has been settled.

 

 

When you complete the registration process, you must mark in the section "Exemptions and discounts" the ones you are entitled to (you can mark more than one).

EXEMPTION TABLE

The condition that entitles you to the exemption must be valid during the registration period, even if it is in process, being conditioned to justify such circumstance and to deliver, once resolved, the accreditation of the condition before the 31st of May. In case of being valid the title presented in previous courses a new document is not required.

If at the time of registration you do not mark the exemption, you can apply for it until 30 December by presenting the supporting documentation at the secretary's office of your school.

If you are a large family of general or special category, you have the right to half or all of the public prices discount.

If you are recognised as having a level of disability equal to or greater than 33%, you are entitled to a discount on the total amount of public fees.

If you are a recognised victim of terrorism and have a partner and children, you will be entitled to exemption from public fees for academic services (you pay the fees for degrees and secretary's office).

Immediately after registration and, in any case, before 29 October, you must present the documentation accrediting the right to exemption.

Documentation to be submitted:

  • report from the Ministry of the Interior
  • recognition by the AXE of the extraordinary pension for terrorist acts
  • court ruling 

If you are recognised as a victim of gender violence, as well as your children and minors subject to guardianship and custody, you will be entitled to exemption from public fees for academic services (you pay the fees for diplomas and secretarial fees), minors subject to guardianship and custody will continue to enjoy the exemption after reaching the age of majority under the same conditions as sons and daughters. Once the exemption has been declared, it will be maintained for the duration of the common period of studies.

Immediately after registration and, in any case, before 29 October, you must present the documentation accrediting the right to exemption. 

Documentation to be submitted:

  • Certification of the protection order or precautionary measure, or witness or copy authenticated by the secretary or court clerk of the protection order or precautionary measure.
  • Judgment of any jurisdictional order that declares that the woman suffered violence in any of the modalities defined in the law.
  • Certification and/or report from the social and/or health services of the regional or local public administration.
  • Certification from the shelter services of the regional or local public administration.
  • Report from the Public Prosecutor's Office indicating the existence of #indication of violence.
  • Report from the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate.

If you obtain an overall outstanding in the 2nd year of baccalaureate, in the last year of Higher Cycle, Extraordinary Prize in baccalaureate or Higher Cycle, or Medal in national and international scientific Olympiads, you will be entitled to a one-time exemption from public fees for academic services, in the first year.

Immediately after registration and, in any case, before 29th of October, you must present the documentation that accredits the right to exemption.

Documentation to present: copy of the academic certificate or accreditation of the prize or medal.

If you obtain an outstanding registration in any degree or master's degree subject, you will not pay the public fees for the first registration in the following academic year for the same number of credits in which you got outstanding, as long as they belong to the same studies or to studies in the same field of knowledge.

Documentation to be submitted: if the outstanding registration was obtained at a university other than UVigo, immediately after registration and, in any case, before 29th October, you must submit a copy of the academic certificate.

If at the time of registration you are already applying or you intend to apply for a scholarship that includes the registration fee, you must indicate it in the Exemptions section, and this way the payment of the fees for academic services will be deferred until the time of the resolution of the scholarship.   • General scholarship MEFP / Government of the País Vasco: The granting of the scholarship entitles you to free tuition fees for the academic services of the subjects for which you are registering for the first time.
  • University of Vigo scholarships: The University of Vigo offers several scholarships each year that entitle you to free registration fees.  See this page for payment facilities.
  • Grants from other organizations
    • Xunta de Galicia: youth abroad
    • PRONABEC

Bear in mind that if you do not get the grant you will have to pay the registration fee, and on certain dates you will no longer be able to pay in instalments.

If the application is denied, the University will automatically issue a new payment slip with the registration fee. It is the student's responsibility to pay attention to the dates of resolution of the calls and pay the corresponding amounts within the established deadlines.

The staff of Galician public universities and their children and spouses can apply for grants from the Social Action Fund for free tuition fees for academic services. Consult the conditions in the call for applications.

To apply for the aid at the time of registration you must select this option. Once the registration with exemption has been confirmed, we will send an e-mail to the person entitled to receive confirmation of the application. It is very important that you reply to the email, requests that do not contain confirmation from the right holder will be denied.

You are entitled to a refund of the total amount paid in the case of:

  • for the granting of an automatic total cancellation in the cases established in the degree and postgraduate registration calls.

You are entitled to a refund of part of the amount paid in the case of:

  • cancellation of registration submitted within the deadline established at the beginning of the 1st term: the amount of the university card and the amount of the credits enrolled will be refunded.
  • cancellation of a master's registration submitted within the deadline at the beginning of the 2nd term: the amount of the credits of the 2nd term will be refunded.
  • cancellation of registration submitted after the deadline but within the 1st term: only the amount of the credits of the 2nd term will be refunded.
  • partial modification of the registration resulting in a lower amount than the amount paid.
  • recognition of credits resulting in a lower amount than the amount paid.
  • be entitled to an exemption or discount and have paid the registration fee.
  • have been granted a scholarship with free registration and have paid the registration fee.
  • obtain the Extraordinary End of Degree or Doctorate Award granted by the Governing Council of the UVIGO, you are entitled to a refund of the price paid for the issuance of the degree.
  • if an error is detected in the price settlement.

The refund procedure starts automatically as soon as you make the changes in the Automatrícula. In the case of extraordinary awards, the refund is made automatically by the Public Price Management Section.

If you are entitled to exemption and you have paid the registration fee, you can apply for a refund until 31 May.
