Library

The University Library offers a wide set of information resources, facilities and services to support learning, teaching and research-oriented activities.

The University Library is accessible in the three campus through a network of eleven libraries coordinated by the central library of the University campus of Vigo. It is part of the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Transfer and Innovation. 

Although mainly targeted at members of the university community, the library allows access to people outside the University of Vigo as external users.

The library is managed with a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001 standard. Likewise, the library is part of cooperative environments such as Rebiun, CISUG (formerly Bugalicia Consortium), Dialnet, UniCI2 and Expania.

Opening hours

  • Central Vigo Library: 8:30am - 9pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 9pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Central Ourense Library:  8:30am - 9pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 9pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Central Pontevedra Library:  8:30am - 9pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 9pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Economics & Business Sciences Library:8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Experimental Sciences Library: 8:30am - 18:45 8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Fine Arts Library: 8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Industrial-Mining Library: 8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Legal & Labour Sciences Library: 8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Philology & Translation Library: 8:30am - 8:45pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Telecommunication Library, 8:30am to 8:45pm. (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 1:45pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).
  • Torrecedeira Library: 8:30am - 9pm (during the Christmas period, this library will be open from 9am to 9pm on 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 December and 2, 5 and 7 January).

  • Central Vigo Library: 9am to 9pm every weekend from Saturday 29 November to Sunday 11 January. Monday 8 December (public holiday) will open with the same weekend hours.
  • Central Ourense Library: 9am to 9pm every weekend from Saturday 29 November to Sunday 11 January. Monday 8 December (public holiday) will open with the same weekend hours.
  • Central Pontevedra Library: 9am to 9pm every weekend from Saturday 29 November to Sunday 11 January. Monday 8 December (public holiday) will open with the same weekend hours.
  • Torrecedeira Library: 9am to 9pm every weekend from Saturday 29 November to Sunday 11 January. Monday 8 December (public holiday) will open with the same weekend hours.
* During these weekend opening hours the libraries only provide a study space service, but not other regular services such as lending, interlibrary loan, access to electronic resources, etc.

  • Central Ourense Library: Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 9 to 19 December and from 8 to 16 January, its standard opening hours will be extended until 00:30 in the morning.
  • Central Pontevedra Library: Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 9 to 19 December and from 8 to 16 January, its standard opening hours will be extended until 00:30 in the morning.
  • Torrecedeira Library: Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 9 to 19 December and from 8 to 16 January, its standard opening hours will be extended until 00:30 in the morning
*During these evening opening hours the libraries only provide a study space service, but not other regular services such as lending, interlibrary loan, access to electronic resources, etc.
